Well. I called the Post Office.

....And they said I need to get the packaging from Michelle, and fill out a claims form to send to them with the packaging attached. So, Lorna, can you please send my address to Michelle, so she can send the packaging back to me. Thanks. So basically, they want proof of what happened, so they can deny everything, as the post office nearly ALWAYS does. And Yes, I am still annoyed at them. The woman on the phone didn't help their case either - she was rude as anything!
Anyway.
Keep on Stitching.

Since my exchange didn't make it....

....I'll post a picture of it. Luckily I remembered to take one before I sent it off. I can't believe this has happened, and the post office will be getting such a mouthful of me in the morning. I am actually completely gutted, and crying as I type this, so frgive any spelling mistakes.
The design itself was a blackwork, my first ever blackwork, and therefore special (in my opinion), which took me a fair while to do, because it was something new. Sorry about the bad qaulity, I couldn't get it to work without the flash blinding it out, so it's a little dark.

The fabric in the picture below is the rest of the hand tie dyed fabric that I did myself for the backing. My first time tie dying, too.

All in the Orange theme, for Michelle too.
The postcard that there was only half of, I unfortunately don't have a picture of, but it's one from WH Smiths, with a funny camel on it. On an Orange Background. And I bought an orange pen PURELY for writing that postcard too.

I'm so annoyed with the royal mail. And I won't stop until I get refunded for EVERY element of that exchange. That means the fabric, the dye, the thread, the aida, the ribbon AND the postage!

Keep on Stitching.

Oh Dear - Does anyone recognise this?

Hi All

Had to sign for a parcel this morning- postman apologised as its got damaged in transit. The only thing inside was half a card - does anyone recognise the writing. This is the only exchange I was waiting on so it has to be from here. I have kept the packaging if anyone wants to make a claim. So sorry.

My Exchange from Maddy

I received my exchange from Maddy this morning, it's a gorgeous biscornu and stitched in the lovely blue and green that I like. Sorry I can't put a photo up at the moment I'm waiting for my camera batteries to charge. Thank you so much Maddy, it is beautiful.

Batteries all charged up now so hopefully the pics will do Maddy's stitching justice.
I think one of these days I'll have to get a new camera!

Re Exchange

Hi Folks

I've been looking at designs for the hanging ornie/ scissor fob exchange and wondered if I should just get going and stitch or if we will be told who we are stitching for so we can investigate their tastes?

Lula x

How is that for a match?

Thank you, Rachael. You couldn't have matched the colour better if you had tried!I received this beautiful pin mattress from Rachael yesterday and it is gorgeous. It is exactly the same colour as the walls in my front room.
She has also put the date on the back. It is beautifully finished and I will treasure it.
Thank you

Colour exchange

It's heading out today and given the "big puddle" between here and there expect it to show up some time next week :)

Carol

Hello!

Hello to all! I'm the new kid on the block.

My name is Lucy, known as Lula, I am 33 and live in Hertfordshire. I live with my fella Terry (who works away so I don't see much of him) and my lil lad jacob who is 4. And also lurking in the house is a crazy spaniel Monty.

I love making things and my fav hobby is cross stitch. I have been stitching for 25 years although seem to have remarkably few finished pieces to show for it.... lots of UFOs though. I have never taken part in a cross stitch exchange before.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all.

Lula x

PS I really wanna join in the new hanging ornie scissor keep exchange but I'd be no 13.... bit worried about the implications! Can someone hold my hand through this first one???

you have until the end of april to sign up and until the end of may for it to arrive with your partner..

**MAIL ART EXCHANGE**--sign up

ok so you have seen the mail art envelopes that is what we are doing this time, i always wondered if they would get to their destination in one piece if at all but i have posted two and received one in perfect conditon.

so you need to stitch your design in any theme you wish, stitch the address on the front, back it with fabric and turn it into an envelope, pop a card inside for your partner and post it! simple!

if anyone would like instructions in a bit more detail email me and i will try to help .

you have until the 20th april to sign up and then you must have stitched and posted your piece to arrive by the end of may, you can start stitching straight away and i will send out partner details on the 21st april for you to add to your envelopes.

happy stitching guys
